You are God Alone

The following song by Phillips, Craig, and Dean has been playing through my head for months.  How many times have I tried to put God in a box of my own making?  How many times have I questioned His timing and His plan for me and my family?  How many times have I “suggested” a better way to God?

He is God.  What does that mean, really?  He isn’t in need of anything that I bring to the conversation, yet He chooses to speak to me.  He doesn’t need my abilities, but He chooses to use them and makes more gifts available through His Spirit.  He is able to do far more than I could imagine and He chooses to continually do a work in my life.  What an amazing and awesome God I serve.

You are not a God
Created by human hands
You are not a God
Dependant on any mortal man
You are not a God
In need of anything we can give
By Your plan, that’s just the way it is

[chorus]
You are God alone
From before time began
You were on Your throne
You are God alone
And right now
In the good times and bad
You are on Your throne
You are God alone

You’re the only God
Whose power none can contend
You’re the only God
Whose name and praise will never end
You’re the only God
Who’s worthy of everything we can give
You are God
And that’s just the way it is

[chorus]

[bridge]
Unchangeable
Unshakable
Unstoppable
That’s what You are
