Happy New Year

2013 brought a lot of change into our lives. It was marked by great victories and difficult struggles. I am thankful for all of it. The victories directed me to see God’s grace abounding again and again. And those pesky, sometimes, huge struggles led me to greater faith and reminded me that I am always in need of my Heavenly Father’s mercy and goodness.

I have no idea what my Father has in store for me and my family in 2014. But, rain or shine, I know that He will walk alongside me, meet every need, dry every tear, and teach me what I need to know. And in those moments of weakness, those times I forget these Truths, He will encourage me.

How do I know? Because it is God who is at work in me, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. (Phil.2:13) And if I forget that it is God who is working in me and allow pride to trip me? I just need confess my sin, He is faithful and just. He will forgive me, cleanse me, and set me on the right path again.

Another year? Another opportunity to see my God do great things, mind-boggling things beyond all imagining. Another opportunity to be stretched, to be tested, to become more like Him. Another opportunity to see the fruit of His Spirit grow in my life.

Thank You Father for the confidence that comes in knowing You are God. You are in control. You are good and bring good into my life, even if my eyes don’t recognize it as good. Give me a heart that seeks to follow after You. Give my children a desire to know You and give them a love for Your Word. Give my husband wisdom to lead our family and boldness to stand firm. Make our home a place of refuge. GIve our family opportunities to minister to those around us. Help us to surrender our plan and walk in the path that you direct.

We are stateside for at least a year. We are calling Colorado home right now. Thank you for your prayers. The most precious gift you could offer is prayers on our behalf.
